Please provide a brief description of the workshop or presentation.
I would like to conduct virtual introductory drawing, printmaking, and/or mixed media workshops or classes. In a drawing class, I would cover the basic fundamentals of drawing such as: gesture drawing, basic shapes, mark making, contour line drawing, point of view, proportion, methods for creating space, landscape, atmospheric perspective, one point perspective, value, light, figure drawing and portraiture. For a printmaking class I would focus on woodcut (specifically with MDF because it is easier for beginners and more accessible) and linocuts. The topics I would cover in this class/workshop would be: drawing for printmaking, editioning, print terminology, self portrait printing, reduction methods, mixing and layering colors, and printing on fabric. In a mixed media class, I would focus on using different materials (paints, drawing utensils, paper, magazines, found objects, thread, etc) to create different works of art. Some topics I would cover include: collaging, creating a book of surfaces, transforming objects with a specific use into something completely different using various materials, and layering different mediums/materials to create small sculptures.

What experience do you have working with students with disabilities?
In the college drawing class that I was a teaching assistant for, a student had a physical disability/mobility issues. I made extra time to work with her one on one and brought her supplies to her dorm room when there was inclement weather.
How do you ensure your workshops are accessible for students with disabilities? Please provide specific accommodations.
For students with disabilities I will provide concise text descriptions of content that is presented within images. I will use large, bold, and easily readable fonts. I will create clear and consistent layouts for class information. I will make instructions and expectations clear for activities and projects. I will provide ample opportunities and time for students to practice. I will also provide feedback and opportunities for students to virtually meet with me individually to assess their needs. I will offer easier alternatives for projects that may be physically taxing on students (i.e. working meticulously with their hands, etc.)
